A Commitment To Community Involvment   Welcome to Avondale Montessori Academy’s community page. We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring this new school to your neighborhood and are committed to providing a high quality education for all levels of learners.  Avondale Montessori Academy will provide its students with an educational experience that is culturally-relevant, contains strong service elements, sets high expectations, and will incorporate up-to- date technology.   One of Avondale Montessori Academy’s core values is “community as priority over the self.”  Our curriculum will focus not only on “individual identity” but on “social identity” also.

We know that children learn best when they are engaged and interested. They also do better when they feel like they have a true voice and are listened to.  We hope to create a culture at Avondale Montessori Academy that will enable your children to become lifelong learners, experience a high level of academic achievement, develop their personal passions, become active participants in community life and cultivate in them a global perspective and attitude.

About Our Community Engagement Model

 

We have decided to use a community engagement model developed by Dr. James P. Comer in order to take a holistic approach, a child centered focus, and create a governance structure that includes all of a schools stakeholder groups. We choose to implement this model because it has proven to help build positive relationships among all members of the school community. It has a child centered perspective and incorporates a developmental lens.
